The unglamorous bits
Getting off an Emirates flight at Dubai international airport at 6am, wanting nothing more than sleep. It's obvious already in this expat city who the expats are, and who's only passing through. At this time of the morning though we are all sleepy with questionable hygiene.
I should get used to this.
Temperature at 6am was 29 degrees. I guess I'll find out once I climb out of bed how hot it can get, so pardon me while I dress up and swagger ceremoniously into the office at 4pm on the first work day if the week, and investigating the strange meowing outside my door (mostly: whose is it, is it cute, can I keep it?)...
Reality bites and it's a little dusty.
